African sleeping sickness is caused by a parasite called Trypanosoma brucei gambiense or rhodesiense depending on the location in Africa. It is transmitted by the tsetse fly. It initially is bloodborne but progresses to the CNS. Amoebic dysentary is caused by Entamoeba histolytica, which of course is a protozoan amoeba. You usually get this from contaminated water/food washed with contaminated water.
