How would earthquakes bring about changes in Kobe and China?
The changes are obvious. Earthquakes are the earth moving. In China a huge landslide moved a huge amount of earth, and created a new lake which previously did not exist, submerging land where people had previously lived. When a city is destroyed in an earthquake, clearly it needs to be rebuilt, which presents an opportunity for new planning, and for designing better quality buildings more able to withstand the stresses they experience in shaking.
