How would Dhaka benefit from private sector involvement in the proposed treatment plant?
A private company offers three advantages: financial means, managerial expertise, and technical capabilities. A private company will likely be able to use their own capital resources and mobilize their own loans from private companies to finance the infrastructure. This saves the government money that can be put to other uses and from taking on more debt, which consumers and citizens ultimately pay for. The government and consumers can also be guaranteed the lowest costs in the construction, management, and delivery of services from the private sector because of the nature in which the private company is contracted for the job.
