How would cooperative societies and microfinance banks be employed to assist the farmers?
I will encourage our people to form cooperative societies because they could access some funds from agricultural programmes such as FADAMA and from international donors. I would also want to meet with cooperative development banks and microfinance institutions to appeal to them to assist our people. I don’t mind being a surety for them. How will you raise all the money you need to accomplish all these lofty ideas you have enunciated? Honestly, if I depend solely on government’s allocation, I may not go far. What I need to do is partner with international donors such as Cross River State Social Development Agency, the European Union Micro Projects Programmes (MPP) and others. What I essentially need to do is to link up with the international donor support agencies so that they can assist me in this direction.
