How would Assembly Bill 1164 help protect quality child care?
This bill (De Leon—D-LA), would give family child care providers a stronger voice in the decisions that affect them. It would allow providers to join together and form an organization that could be officially recognized as their representative. With a united voice, providers could work together with their county and state to help solve California’s child care crisis and improve services for working families. In other states, providers have worked together through their unions to create training opportunities and quality incentives, improve recruitment and retention, reduce costs for parents, and gain access to affordable health insurance so they can deliver more reliable care.
