How would a typical clause for joint custody read?
A typical clause would read: The parties agree that they shall have joint custody of the children. Joint custody herein means that the parties shall have equal input with regard to all major decisions affecting the health, education, welfare, and religious activities of their children, that all such decisions shall be jointly made by them, and that routine decisions that do not have more than a day to day effect, shall be made by the person who has physical custody of the child at the time the decision must be made. The parties shall jointly make as many routine decisions as is possible.
