How would a functionalist view a mother in prison?
A functionalist would be worried if they saw a mother in prison because functionalists see the society made up of different people and structures that work together to fulfill the survival of the society as a whole. A mother in prison is not something that would help society function well. Obviously, if would be devastating if children didn’t have mothers to take care of them. What kind of example would the mother be setting to her children?
