How wired is the Latino community?
Very much so. In 2003, there were more than 12 million Latinos online. Now it’s something like 15 million. In Mexico, broadband Internet service has improved and there’s a high penetration among the middle class. Latino consumers have a lot of exposure to technology. Are your customers primarily Latino? The site is bilingual. We sell a lot of music to people with Anglo last names. There was the big boom in Latin music with the Ricky Martin crossover a few years ago, and Shakira is here to stay. Our customers are in the U.S. and outside of the U.S. Our music is not necessarily hugely commercial. It’s not something that’s distributed in Wal-Mart. How do you handle the digital-rights-management battle? We use the Windows Media format. Apple won’t let anyone use their format. Certain record labels demand DRM.
