How will WESTEST be used for accountability for schools/counties/state?
WESTEST Reading/Language Arts and Mathematics test scores will be used to determine the school, county, and state mastery of the WV CSOs for Annual Yearly Progress (AYP). The WESTEST Reading/Language Arts and Mathematics participation rates will be used to determine the school, county and state participation rate status for AYP. Please refer all accountability questions/issues/concerns to the Office of Education Performance Audits. This office writes and revises the policy that outlines how assessments, participation rates, attendance rate, and graduation rate will impact school/county/state AYP determinations and status. Contact Dr. Kenna Seal, Executive Director of Office of Education Performance Audits, kseal@access.k12.wv.
