How will WebCT be affected by the SSN-SID conversion?
WebCT will not be converting from using a combination of Student ID’s (SID’s) and Social Security Numbers (SSN’s) to using only student ID’s (SID’s) after April 9. For WebCT, this conversion will happen naturally as courses for spring semester end and new courses for Maymester or summer session begin. You will not be affected if you use WebCT to keep track of grades and to report grades. You can continue to download grade book files, edit them in a program like MS Excel, enter new grades, and then re-upload those files as you have in the past. The column in your WebCT grade book called ID Number will contain the same ID numbers that it did in the beginning of the semester.
