How will TradeFIT address this shortage of skills and expertise?
In the first instance, bringing trades training together on one site ensures that trades’ people learn their skills within a ‘real world’ context, along side other trades’ people, gaining an appreciation of the many skills required in the construction industries and how they fit together. This will break down the isolated ‘silo’ approach to training. Secondly, the ‘simulated subdivision’ environment will be a more life-like context for learning rather than the ‘unreal’ training solely provided in classrooms and workshops. Trades people work in a variety of environments and TradeFIT will provide all those environments and situations. Trades’ people trained at TradeFIT will find the transition to the real world of trades much easier.
