How will topsoil be handled in cultivated areas within an easement?
Contractors clear the right of way of trees and brush if any is present and will collect the topsoil and hold it separate from the subsoils. After the trench for the pipeline is dug and the pipeline is placed in the trench, the subsoil will be used to fill the trench and the topsoil will be placed on top of the subsoil. In cultivated land, topsoil is segregated during excavation and stored separately from subsoil.
