How will this activity address education, outreach and communication issues outlined in the Framework document?
Outreach and education for the pre-university community and Arctic Communities will take place primarily through the Partner School Project. Two schools, one Northern and one non-Northern will partner together. The following description is of the activities planned for an existing partnership. 7th Grade (about age 13) Investigation of the Arctic, the way of living and the material culture by exchange of e-mails with a partner school at Barrow. Dante students describe their daily life at school; tell the Barrow students about their free-time activities, their home town Munich and surroundings, about their fashion preferences, hobbies, family and friends, their own problems (including photos, of course). As the Barrow students will do the same in turn, there will be a lively intercultural exchange of typical Bavarian teenage habits and typical Alaskan teenage habits with the winter season as combining element for comparison.
