How will the XM/SIRIUS merger affect services?
The merger between SIRIUS and XM is complete, and it is unlikely that you will see changes in your respective service, unless it is a programming change that was already planned. You will still be able to receive all the programming and music without any interruptions in service. As an early step in the merger, the two satellite radio broadcasters created similar programming and pricing packages to offer customers. Both XM and SIRIUS have stated that current hardware will be carried over, and you will continue receiving service on your current radio. More information will become available as the merger process is finalized, or read the SIRIUS Guarantee and the XM Customer Promise for more answers to your questions. A note to Canadian satellite radio users: as of October 2008, there have been no plans for a merger between SIRIUS’ and XM’s respective Canadian divisions.
