How will the writing test count in student accountability at grades 4, 7, and 10?
The North Carolina Writing Assessment at grades 4 and 7 will be counted in the performance composite of the ABC’s and in the Student Accountability Standards. The NCDPI English Language Arts Instructional Services and the Division of Accountability Services-North Carolina Testing Program is recommending that the North Carolina Writing Assessment at Grade 10 also count in the performance composite of the ABC’s and in the Student Accountability Standards. The North Carolina State Board of Education has yet to approve this recommendation.
