How will the weather of the Midwest affect my route times? Will I experience delays from snow?

0

During the winter months, the Midwest region experiences some of the worst winter weather and driving conditions of anywhere in the country. The southeastern part of the Midwest has more moisture so subsequently there is more rain and snow in that area and ice storms during winter can happen. There is also more snow in areas near the Great Lakes. The number one rule to follow while driving in bad weather, whether rain, snow, or ice, is to slow down! Yes, this may cause you to experience delays but you will be able to avoid accidents or any other situations that may delay you even more as a result of driving too fast. If conditions worsen while you are driving, pull over for awhile until the weather clears up a bit. You may have to adjust your schedule accordingly to make up for lost time; sleep when you were planning on driving and drive when you were planning on sleeping. You will have to learn to adapt your schedule to the weather.
