How will the vote be tallied?
The votes will be counted one by one. Any ballot that looks like it has been tampered with or the vote is unclear will be verified with the family. Ballots will be printed on individual 6th and 7th grade student report cards to avoid duplication concerns. Each parent/guardian will be allowed one vote per student attending 6th or 7th grade. PTO representatives will be available to observe vote tallying. Please note that if 51% are in favor but only 10% of eligible ballots are returned the vote would not be a valid representation. Additional information on voting procedures will be going home with the ballots and will be posted on the website. We are continuing to receive additional suggestions and comments on voting and thank everyone for their input.
