How will the spill affect Florida?
The spill’s effects are so far proving tough to predict. A University of Miami scientist says the spill could get into what’s called the Loop Current, eventually carrying oil south along the Florida coast and into the Florida Keys. State and federal officials say they don’t expect any oil is to taint the beaches of the west coast of Florida within the next 72 hours.
