How will the services of the Community Center interact with other services available in Groton?
Groton is blessed with many social activities provided by various groups in town. The GCF plans to partner with and to compliment these groups, by providing additional space, athletic facilities, or services for their use. We will not duplicate nor cause the elimination of well-loved programs that currently exist. The addition of new activities, such as indoor swimming would be possible. Many organizations such as the Council on Aging, Peter Twomey Youth Center, GDAY, the Groton Garden Club, the Groton Public Library, and other such organizations will hopefully benefit by coordinating with the Community Center. We look forward to working with all such groups once the Center is complete. In the near future, the GCF is meeting with as many groups as possible in town, to present our message and to ask how they feel about a new community center, as well as how they see themselves using it.
