How will the selection process for the YouTube Symphony Orchestra work?

Eligible entries will be scored by the Competition Administrator, Marden Kane, Inc., based on criteria set out in the Official Rules, and top scoring entries will be passed to international expert judging panel consisting of representatives from leading orchestras around the world and other musical experts and organizations. This panel will then review the entries based on the criteria as outlined in the Official Rules and select a number of entries to be voted on by the YouTube community. The YouTube community will then vote for its favorites from this selection. This will inform the final decision of who will win a chance to perform in the YouTube Symphony Orchestra which rests with the artistic director of the YouTube Symphony Orchestra, Michael Tilson Thomas. The voting period is tentatively planned to be from December 10th to December 17th 2010 on the YouTube Symphony Orchestra Channel, but is subject to change (check the official channel for any changes).
