In November 2000, RAND organized a two-day workshop on The Information Revolution in Latin America. Part of a larger RAND project on the global information revolution for the National Intelligence Council, the workshop reflects the interest of both RAND and the National Intelligence Council in reaching out to the best experts around the world, bringing together entrepreneurs, government officials and outside analysts from Latin America and the United States at RAND’s Washington, D.C. office. Workshop participants surveyed the economic and business, as well as the political and social dimensions of information in Latin America, attempting to push out about a decade.
