How will the relocation to Fort Meade affect a military members BAH?

0

According to the DoD Per Diem, Travel, and Transportation Allowance Committee, the Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) is based on geographic duty location, pay grade, and dependency status. Although the procedure is slightly different for each service, members who choose not to relocate their residence [home] will (may?) be eligible to request a waiver to allow them to keep their current rate of BAH until they PCS, separate, or retire. Those members, who choose to relocate, have HHG moved at government expense, or report to DISA after the relocation will assume the new Fort Meade rate. A comparison table of BAH rates is shown below. Note that these rates use only Washington, DC and Fort Meade in the comparison. BAH rates for all locations can be found at: http://perdiem.hqda.pentagon.mil/perdiem/bah.html.
