How will the recreation center be built?
• a. The WECRD has been saving money since 2001. In order to build an 80,000 sq ft ($10M) facility the WECRD conducted a Capital Campaign Feasibility Study in 2003. The study revealed that not enough donors capable of making large philanthropic donations to the project would do so. b. Thus, the WECRD pursued saving tax revenues (in an interest bearing account) and paying cash for each step of the facility. First the land was purchased. Then the WECRD began saving to build the WECRD Recreation Center debt free. (see # 4, 8, 11, 12, 26, 27) d. Saved tax dollars will be spent to fund construction of the WECRD Recreation Center.
