How will the recession affect future commercial building design?

Principal, director of Nashville operations | Moody Nolan Inc. | 615-386-9690 It will be difficult to see the impact from the recession in architectural design years from now since buildings that are under construction in 2009 were funded and designed two or more years ago. Perhaps I’m being optimistic, but I think the recession will be behind us soon enough that a drop in building construction will not be evident 30 years from now. Additionally, the move toward more sustainable buildings began before this recession, and I expect it will continue long after. Conceivably, the beginning decades of this century will be known for a change to sustainable design.
