How will the process of disclosing a COI or COC dovetail with the University’s policy and procedures for sponsored projects?
Two faculty committees – the Office of the Vice President for Research Conflict of Interest Review Committee and the Medical School Conflict of Interest Board – with established procedures already exist to review disclosures of investigators’ significant financial or management interests in sponsored research and in intellectual property licenses to faculty start-ups. The SPG does not change the function of these committees. Although the SPG does not require academic units to establish additional faculty committees to review and manage disclosures, units may have chosen to do so.
