How will the Prisoner Match work?
On a daily basis, the CPS will send application/correction records to SSA for matching with their Prisoner database. The CPS will send all transactions for the Prisoner Match that have been processed through CPS since the last time the prisoner match was conducted. If a record comes back from the SSA with an unfavorable prisoner match result, the CPS will create a system-generated SAR/ISIR to report the match findings. The resulting ISIRs will have a system-generated indicator of “P” (position 600), and will carry a Transaction Source Site Code (position 675-676) of “77.” The resulting SARs/ISIRs will contain comment numbers 81, 83, or 84, depending which match flag is generated by the match. What do the match flags mean? The Prisoner Match Flag will contain the valid values of 0, 1, 2, 3, or 8. Here is what each of value means to you: 0–Applicant has not yet been sent to SSA Prisoner Match or is not a prisoner. No “C” flag or comment code will be provided on SAR/ISIR. 1–Applicant in
