How will the pediatric emergency department differ from the current emergency department and how will my family benefit?
The AAMC Pediatric Emergency Department will be a unit dedicated specifically for younger patients. Families will benefit from pediatric specialists caring for their child in an environment separated from AAMC’s normal emergency department, and can feel confident knowing their child is being cared for by some of the region’s top pediatric specialists, nurses and clinicians. Should a child need to be admitted to the hospital, the AAMC pediatric emergency department also will house the pediatric inpatient unit to provide the best possible care for young patients and their families.
