How will the new process factor in existing research?
Program-Directed Research will build on the numerous research advances WERF research has made over the past 15 years, as well as advances made by others. Many of the challenges chosen by subscribers are anticipated to be in areas in which WERF already has been conducting research. Research staff will use their knowledge of WERF’s research to inform the Exploratory Teams. The teams will be expected to build a research plan and feasibility case for their challenge that factors in all the existing relevant research from all available sources.
