If and when the new licensing scheme is fully implemented, developers creating libraries and related software distributed under the LGPL will be able to use any Mozilla code in that software under LGPL terms and conditions. If and when all Mozilla source files are relicensed under the MPL/GPL/LGPL triple license (or other compatible licenses), then developers may create and distribute Mozilla-based libraries and related software under the LGPL by taking advantage of the option to use the Mozilla source files under LGPL terms, and complying with the various requirements of the LGPL for those portions of the software based on code from the Mozilla source files. Under the MPL/GPL/LGPL triple license developers may also extract portions of Mozilla code and use them in existing source files already under the LGPL, without needing to change the existing LGPL license notice in those source files. (This is possible because the triple license boilerplate language permits deleting the MPL portio
