The plan enables UTMB to focus emergency resourcesincluding ED space, staff time, radiology, pharmacy and laboratory capabilitiesto better meet the needs of patients with true medical emergencies. Ultimately, this will better serve the community. When an individual or loved one suffers a real emergency, fast access and the quickest possible aid is what they need. This plan will help UTMB provide a higher and more efficient level of service.
