How will the Museum renovations beginning June 14, 2010 affect my group?
We have good news to report – things are changing at the MIT Museum! Over the past four years, the Museum has opened a new ground floor facility, greatly expanded its educational programs, and launched the Cambridge Science Festival as an annual celebration of science and technology in the community. These and related developments have raised the Museum’s public profile, and total attendance at all sites has more than doubled to 140,000 visitors per annum in 2008-09. Beginning on June 14, 2010, the Museum will embark on a second phase of redevelopment to sustain this growth and further improve services by creating new spaces on the second floor for regularly changing temporary exhibitions and distinctive educational programs.
