How will the merger impact nonprofits in the region?
Nonprofits will be able to apply for grants for capital and program needs from the new community foundation. It is expected that in future years grantmaking guidelines will be integrated to make applying for grants easier for nonprofit applicants. The new foundation will continue to be a sponsor of the Academy for Nonprofit Excellence at Tidewater Community College. Nonprofit staff members are encouraged to sign up for the monthly Grantseekers Gazette e-newsletter to stay abreast of grantmaking and other news.
