We’ll have to wait and see if and how OSHA changes their tune on who is afforded protection. We may get something of a test in the case of Lisa Bridges, McDonald’s former senior director of compensation. She claims she was fired “for bringing up the alleged misrepresentations” in its compensation practices, reports the Chicago Tribune. She is seeking Sarbanes-Oxley whistle-blower protections. Specifically, she claims the company had to–but didn’t–disclose it paid for two country club memberships for the president of the company’s Asian operations some of the $97,384 it paid for “home leave” trips. She also claims that the company “disguised” more than $10 million it paid to a former executive as salary and incentive compensation, which she says was a no-no. She was terminated soon after.
