How will the market be served by buses?

0

Following comments received, Bolton Council is examining the relationship between the Ashburner Street Market and the proposed bus/rail interchange, and the role that bus services play in supporting the market. The council is also looking at what can be done to enhance the market within Bolton town centre in the future. This work is expected to be completed by the end of March 2011. GMPTE is committed to ensuring the market is well served by bus, despite the relocation of the bus station. This will be done by the creation of new, convenient on-street stops, with passenger waiting facilities, and by working with bus operators and Bolton Council with regards to bus routing. Part of this work will ensure any future bus routes are consistent with Bolton Council’s overall town centre transport strategy.
