How will the Magnet Program be funded and staffed?
A. Funding for teacher positions and instructional materials is allocated in the Board of Education Budget and the Title V Innovative Programs Grant. Teacher positions for the advanced-level learners magnet classes are posted by the Human Resources Department, and all applicants are interviewed. Successful candidates demonstrate knowledge and skills for differentiating instruction, for providing acceleration and enrichment in content areas, and for utilizing instructional technology. Magnet teachers participate in a variety of student activities and professional development activities that are scheduled beyond the regular work day and during the summer months.
