How will the local people view a bunch of foreigners with a lot more resources than they have coming in to live among them?
For the most part, the local poor population welcomes all foreigners, especially since they do know that they bring money to spend. For example there are more English music radio stations than Spanish. People here love anything that comes from the USA. Also note: Ecuadorians are not racists, they do not care what race you are, you will be treated as equals.
