ASRT will continue to press for the passage of the Consistency, Accuracy, Reliability and Excellence in Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy bill (H.R. 3652). The bill’s goal is to ensure that imaging examinations and radiation therapy treatments are performed by individuals who meet educational and certification standards. What is the ASRT’s position on the law? The ASRT has no position on the law itself, but instead believes in basic principles of good health care policy. The ASRT will continue to work in a nonpartisan manner to ensure that Americans have access to safe, high-quality, cost-effective radiology services. Our focus and priority remains passage of the CARE bill, which requires the development of educational, certification and licensure standards for individuals who perform medical imaging and plan or deliver radiation therapy.
