How Will the Land Use Plan Map and Future Zoning Decisions Take Place?

0

A Future Land Use Plan map, which will be contained within the Comprehensive Plan, can serve as a guide for future development and land use decisions. Jackson/Teton County do not currently have a Future Land Use plan, but aim to prepare one through this planning process. A Future Land Use Plan will look at the big picture of how land uses should be balanced throughout the county, mixed, and located. The Land Use Plan map will not be the same thing as a zoning map. The Zoning Map is part of the Land Development Regulations (LDR) and is regulatory, whereas a land use map is a more general guide. Future zoning and re-zonings, however, should be consistent with the new Future Land Use Plan map, once the Town and County adopts it as part of the Comprehensive Plan.
