How will the land transfers and occupier relocations work?
The studies undertaken identified that it would take a complicated process of land transfer and relocation of existing uses to yield a suitable site for a replacement Becket School. Parts of the proposed site for the new school are owned by the three organisations listed in answer 5. The configuration of the existing playing fields, pavilion and accesses owned by Rushcliffe BC will be changed, with additional playing fields and sports pitches created on Nottingham City Council land and even more provided on county council-owned land off Regatta Way, to replace and increase the number and range of facilities available within Rushcliffe Borough. Negotiations to purchase about 10 acres of Scottish and Newcastle’s land close to The Chateau, where the new Becket School will be built, are underway.
