How will the Illini Bio-Energy plant affect the property taxes of the area?

0

The Illini Bio-Energy plant will be assessed by the Logan County Assessor. Improvements to the site will increase the assessed valuation of the property and thus, increase the property taxes collected by Logan County. At the present time, the property is not a part of the Lincoln/Logan County Enterprise Zone. Illini Bio-Energy is investigating the value of being a part of an enterprise zone to its plant operations. Illini Bio-Energy may make such a request to extend the Lincoln/Logan County Enterprise Zone to include its property. Illini Bio-Energy will request all tax abatements for which it is legally entitled. Property tax abatements, as provided by the Lincoln/Logan County Enterprise Zone, are applicable to taxes collected for Logan County, Lincoln High School District, Lincoln Elementary School District and Lincoln Park District. Abatements are not included for the Road and Bridge Fund, Chester East Lincoln School District or the East Lincoln/West Lincoln Fire District. Abatement
