How will the Greenway benefit from the Heritage Study?
The Heritage Study has three major goals. The first goal is to empower, invigorate and expand the Greenway community to carry out a vision for the landscape. The second is to develop a plan for future stewardship of the Greenway by creating a Cooperative Stewardship Framework, a document highlighting the Greenway’s many assets and detailing opportunities to enhance and sustain the Greenway for the next 20 years and beyond. The Heritage Study process will also pursue means of making the Greenway official. One method that has been put forth is the National Heritage Area model, which provides a flexible framework for addressing shared challenges, and builds on the years of successful collaboration among Greenway partners.
