How will the funds collected be spent?
We collect funds through sponsorships, event auction, raffles and ticket sales. Our goal is to collect enough funds from our sponsors to cover the cost of our event. Therefore ticket sales, additional donations, auctions, raffles and sponsor surplus dollars all go to the SickKids Foundation. All our committee members are very passionate about the Foundation since Sick Kids’ Hospital has affected them personally in some way so they volunteer and donate their time free of charge for this worthwhile charity. Proceeds from the picnic have supported the priority needs fund at SickKids. Through these gifts, important advances have been made in child health research, new life-saving medical equipment has been purchased for the clinics and operating rooms and patients continue to receive the best care that science, technology and compassion has to offer here in Toronto.
