How will the Essential Learning Achievements work in practice?
Essential Learning Achievements (ELAs) will form the core of school curriculum in the ACT. Each school will need to review and develop its curriculum to ensure that 25 ELAs are fully incorporated in teaching and learning plan. Schools will identify aspects of the ELAs currently being taught and those not covered. They will make decisions about which ELAs will be the focus of particular subjects and/or which will be taught across a range of subject areas. They will organise their curriculum to ensure students have opportunities to learn in all 25 ELAs in a sequence of learning across the year levels at the school.
