How will the emergency Rx history service benefit pharmacists?
Pharmacists will be able to see a patient’s prescription history and use this information with any new prescriptions being dispensed to make sure there are no interactions. Also, in some states, if an emergency is declared, a pharmacist can dispense to a patient an existing medication they are on without a physician order. This would provide them with the information they need to be able to provide a patient with medication in an emergency situation.
