How will the current el nino effect the uk spring and summer?
El Niño is an oscillation in the sea surface temperature of the equatorial Pacific. During a “El Niño” period, the water is warmer than usual. The cold period of the oscillation is sometimes called “La Niña.” This, in turn, influences the weather in South America and some pretend that it also influences the weather of the USA. But the picture is more complex than that, although many like to blame about everything on “El Niño.” The United Kingdom and northern Europe is not affected by El Niño but by what is known as the North Atlantic Oscillation. This is the result of an oscillation between the polar front and the so-called Azores high pressure. Usually, during the winter, the polar front moves south, due to the larger size of the polar cold air. During the summer, the Azores high moves north up to the point to block the low pressures coming from the west and give nice sunny weather over most of north Europe. But it doesn’t happen all the time like that; it follows an oscillation that
