How will the City decide on the site location for the new transfer station facility?
A siting study has been completed by a consultant to the City. Seven parcels were identified as having the appropriate characteristics of size, zoning and access. Five of the parcels (which make up four sites) were chosen by the City Council for additional consideration and study through the CEQA process. An Environmental Impact Report is being now prepared. The public will have multiple opportunities to get information and express their opinions about the site and the project over the next few months before the project is approved by the City.
