How will the children at Full Spectrum School meet ministry guidelines?
A. The Full Spectrum School is taking a different approach to educating children which will be based on more of a discovery technique. The teachers have already been planning units of study (based on the Ontario curriculum) which they think will be of interest to the children. However, our teachers will focus more on helping children to question, explore, observe and analyze what they are studying instead of teaching facts which need to be tested and graded. Reading, writing, math, science art, drama and music will be woven together into the unit of study allowing children to use their five senses to explore and learn what interests them. As children go deeper into researching and understanding what they are curious about, a heart connection is made to learning which inspires a life long joy in learning. More traditional teaching based on an accelerated curriculum breaks learning up into separate subjects which are taught quickly (since there is so much information to cover). This incr
