How will the Certificate of Advanced Mastery be assessed?
State tests and classroom work samples will be used to assess the academic content standards. State tests will be both multiple choice tests measuring knowledge in the subject area and performance assessments requiring students to analyze, apply knowledge and solve problems. Classroom work samples-for example, projects or technical reports- will require in-depth application in an endorsement area. The career-related learning standards will be assessed locally using state criteria. The Oregon Department of Education will provide assessment models. Local assessments may occur in classrooms, work sites or the community. Certificate of Advanced Mastery assessments currently are being developed.
