How will the big telecoms, Verizon, ATT, be affected by the Health IT and Health Informatics implementation wave?

Big telecoms like Verizon, ATT and Sprint etc. will be positively affected by the Health IT and health Informatics implementation wave. These telecom service providers already provide a series of hosted and CPE (customer premise equipment) solutions, in collaboration with equipment vendors like CISCO, Avaya, Nortel and Microsoft. So, with the money available in healthcare field, I see them increase their existing revenue base and launch new applications into the healthcare market. As per the rules of engagement with government funding, applications that will allow streamlining of healthcare processes and increase operating efficiencies, reduce bottlenecks will get funding and support from the government funds. Verizon , ATT and the like will be spending money on applications development and possibly collaborate with other giants like IBM, and Microsoft to deliver solutions that will enable sale of communications infrastructure.
