How will the application process for Discretionary Admission be like?
Given the relatively small number of applicants who would be selected under this criterion, there will only be one common queue for all students applying for admission. Students who wish to present additional, relevant information that will strengthen their chance of admission can do so as part of their regular application. Students admitted under the discretionary criteria will be expected to show evidence of a special talent or achievement in the course that they want to pursue. This would include students such as those who have won reputable, international competitions, have alternate, non-traditional qualifications or students who can present impressive portfolios of their work. Although these students may not meet the cut–off university score for admission, Faculties will have to satisfy themselves that these students have the minimum academic competency to pursue a University course.
